The King of Fighters XV Patch Update 1.71 Reverts Changes to Pre-1.70 Status for Several Characters

The King of Fighters XV has released its Patch Ver.1.71, reverting certain move properties for several characters back to their pre-1.70 patch status. This change addresses unintended behavior in moves for characters such as Shun’ei, Ash, Luong, Gato, and Geese.

  • SHUN’EI
    • Thruster Vision·Under
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Resolved an issue where, under certain circumstances, landing recovery frames were reduced.
  • ASH
    • Ventose (LP Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Increased stun value.
    • Germinal Caprice (LK Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Altered the behavior when an opponent not in a hit state is hit while in the air.
  • LUONG
    • Ren (EX Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Resolved an issue where players could not cancel into this from Jumping LP.
  • GATO
    • Counterattack Fang (Normal/EX Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Resolved an issue where the counter would unintentionally trigger even when hit from behind.
  • GEESE
    • Raigou Reppuu Ken (Normal Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Resolved an issue where, under certain circumstances, the damage was higher than normal.
    • Raigou Reppuu Ken (MAX Ver.)
      • Move properties have been returned to pre-1.70 patch status, as they were not behaving as intended.
      • Resolved an issue where, under certain circumstances, the damage was lower than normal.
  • KIM
    • Graphics & Voices
      • Resolved minor issues related to graphics and voices.

For Shun’ei, the Thruster Vision・Under has been updated to resolve an issue where landing recovery frames were reduced under specific circumstances. Ash’s Ventose (LP Ver.) now has an increased stun value, while the Germinal Caprice (LK Ver.) alters the behavior when hitting an airborne opponent not in a hit state.

Luong’s Ren (EX Ver.) has been fixed to allow players to cancel into this move from Jumping LP, while Gato’s Counterattack Fang (Normal/EX Ver.) no longer unintentionally triggers when hit from behind. Geese’s Raigou Reppuu Ken (Normal Ver.) and Raigou Reppuu Ken (MAX Ver.) have also been updated to address issues where the damage was either higher or lower than intended under certain circumstances.

In addition to these character-specific updates, Patch Ver.1.71 also resolves minor issues related to graphics and voices for Kim. This latest patch aims to improve the overall gameplay experience and balance for The King of Fighters XV players.
