Microsoft Reportedly Preparing Xbox Game Ports for Nintendo Switch 2, Announcements Expected Soon

Microsoft is reportedly preparing to expand its gaming footprint by bringing a selection of Xbox titles to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, according to multiple sources. The move signals a potentially significant shift in platform strategy for the tech giant, particularly as cross-platform initiatives become more central to its gaming division.

Tom Warren of The Verge has stated that Microsoft is actively working on ports for Nintendo’s next-generation console. Warren remarked, “I revealed last year that Hellblade II was under consideration for a PS5 release, alongside other titles like Gears of War, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Microsoft is also working on some Xbox ports for Nintendo’s Switch 2, which I expect we’ll hear about soon.”

This follows earlier claims from content creator and known industry insider eXtas1s, who reported that a Call of Duty game—possibly Warzone, Black Ops 6, or another upcoming entry—is headed to the Switch 2. The insider added that Microsoft’s collaboration with Nintendo extends beyond the Call of Duty franchise. According to him, ports of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are currently in development for the platform. Furthermore, he suggested that Bethesda titles such as Fallout 4 and Starfield could also make their way to the Nintendo system.

If confirmed, the lineup would mark an unprecedented wave of Xbox franchises arriving on a Nintendo console. While Microsoft has previously experimented with limited cross-platform releases, this rumored initiative appears to indicate a broader and more deliberate effort to extend its software reach.

Official announcements have yet to be made, but the growing number of consistent reports suggests that news may arrive sooner rather than later. If these ports materialize, it could offer Switch 2 players access to a range of major Western-developed titles that have long been associated with Xbox and PC platforms.
