Microsoft is reportedly planning to expand its multiplatform strategy with additional Xbox titles heading to rival platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. According to a report from The Game Business, these announcements are expected to arrive in the coming weeks, signaling further shifts in Xbox’s publishing approach.
Amid growing anticipation, developers and publishers are preparing a range of titles for Nintendo Switch 2. Insiders, including the reputable leaker NateTheHate, suggest that third-party developers are deliberately delaying announcements until a coordinated reveal, likely a Nintendo Direct. Publishers such as Capcom, Sega, Ubisoft, and Bandai Namco are reportedly poised to unveil new projects for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In his latest comments, NateTheHate noted, “Capcom, Sega, Ubisoft, Namco, and many others are just waiting. They have games they want to announce. Switch 2 has a lot of support coming.” He also reiterated that Red Dead Redemption 2 is actively in development for the new platform, though whether Rockstar will announce the port independently or during a Nintendo presentation remains unclear.
A number of high-profile games have been rumored for the Switch 2. These include Metaphor: ReFantazio, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, along with additional Ubisoft content and potential titles like Metal Gear Solid: Delta. Microsoft is reportedly contributing to this lineup as well, with projects like Microsoft Flight Simulator, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and other Xbox first-party games said to be in development for Nintendo’s hardware.
Beyond Microsoft, other major publishers also appear to be supporting the platform with significant content. Reports suggest that Fallout 4, Tekken 8, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Adding to the growing list of possible crossovers, veteran journalist Omar Alomodi has hinted that former PlayStation-exclusive games might arrive on Nintendo’s system. Although no specific titles were confirmed, speculation has centered on Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. YouTuber BeatEmUps recently suggested that the game could appear during the rumored July Direct, adapted to suit the Switch 2’s specifications.
Addressing these rumors, NateTheHate responded to a follower’s question on social media, stating, “Death Stranding 1 is on nearly every device that can run it — it’s on iOS devices, ffs. If 505 wants to port it over to Switch 2… then it’ll be on the platform. Personally, I think it will find its way to the platform; but that’s my own hope/speculation.”
Insider reports suggest a Nintendo Direct presentation in late July, likely in the final week, to reveal third-party titles. This showcase could be a critical moment for Nintendo to build momentum for Switch 2 and for Microsoft to further define its role within the Xbox ecosystem.
