Ubisoft has shared an update on their official website regarding the upcoming remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. They have confirmed that it won’t be canceled.
In an update to the Ubisoft website, they have clarified some lingering questions asked by the fans. They haven’t managed to share an update on the progress of the remake for a while. It was originally set to launch last year and was in development at Ubisoft Pune. However, after the initial reveal led to a lot of negative reactions from fans, they decided to reboot the development at a new studio.
First, we learn that the game is not canceled and it is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft has also clarified that they don’t have any plans currently to remake the other games in the series, so fans need to temper their expectations.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not cancelled. The game is currently in development at Ubisoft Montréal.

Beyond Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time there are currently no plans to remake any other Prince of Persia title.

At the moment, a new release date has not been set, we will provide new information on that front when we are ready.
Pre-order cancellations
Since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was a critical and commercial hit for Ubisoft and it spawned a new trilogy for the series that was released on PC, PS2, GameCube, and Xbox. A remastered version was released later for the PS3 bringing this classic trilogy in a single package.
