Tributary Games, in collaboration with Team17 Digital, has announced the launch of Democracy Manifest, a new update for their medieval multiplayer party game, King of the Castle. The update, which introduces 59 new events and several community-requested features, allows players to band together online with up to 3,000 others to steer the fate of a fictional fantasy kingdom.
The Democracy Manifest update brings a wealth of new content to the game, including the ‘The Rightful Heir’ event chain, which introduces a potential tale of revenge against usurpers of the throne, and the ‘Jailbreak’ event chain, where an imprisoned noble breaks out and wreaks havoc in the kingdom.
In response to community feedback, the update also introduces several new features. Premium Nobles, players who have purchased King of the Castle, now have the ability to choose the region they join. New schemes, including a loyalist scheme available to winning regions, have been added. The update also introduces new Noble shields, Twitch drops, and a rework of the game’s user interface to enhance readability.
Key features of King of the Castle include:
- Cooperative online multiplayer: Players can work together with friends or strangers via Twitch or any device with a web browser to steer the fate of their kingdom, tackle unique challenges, and play a key part in its downfall or prosperity.
- Unique medieval fantasy stories: The game offers hundreds of unique medieval fantasy stories, each with its own characters, choices, and far-reaching consequences.
- Monarch role: As Monarch, players must balance the competing demands of their Nobles while keeping an eye out for brewing political unrest or revolts.
- Democracy manifest: Players can bribe, persuade, or intimidate their way through difficult votes, or alter the law entirely to give themselves extra sway in the polls.
- Customization options: Players can ensure their legacy upon the land by choosing their name, pronouns, appearance, and even their family crest.
- Party Game mode: A small party of 3-24 people can play together with friends. Only King of the Castle game hosts need to own a copy of the game, all others can join for free from their mobile device or web browser using a unique access code.
The Democracy Manifest update for King of the Castle continues to build on the game’s unique blend of treachery, fiefdoms, and bejewelled crabs, offering players an even richer and more immersive gaming experience.
