Frontier Developments has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for ‘Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin,’ a highly anticipated real-time strategy game developed in partnership with Games Workshop. The game, which will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, features a cinematic single-player campaign and competitive cross-platform multiplayer modes.
The trailer showcases the thrilling clash between the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz, two of the game’s playable factions. Players will have the opportunity to sample the 1v1 online multiplayer during an open beta taking place across all platforms from the 7th to 10th July. A second open beta will follow later this summer.
In ‘Realms of Ruin,’ players aim to control more Victory Points than their opponent, capturing Arcane Conduits around the map and building Bastions to strengthen their armies and accumulate resources. As players unlock additional tiers of the tech tree, they can unleash their most powerful and visually spectacular squads, leading to a dynamic tug-of-war to control the map.
Each faction in the game has unique strengths and weaknesses that evolve over the course of a battle. The Stormcast Eternals, a resilient force of celestial champions, can dismantle any foe with their hammer-wielding Liberators and crossbow-carrying Vanguard Raptors. The Orruk Kruleboyz, on the other hand, overwhelm their enemies with their sheer numbers and cunning tactics, fielding melee squads and ranged units, and bringing violent monsters to the frontlines as their force grows.
The gameplay trailer offers a glimpse of these two factions battling for control of Ghur, the Bestial Realm, showcasing the high-end character models and animations that players can expect in this authentic representation of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe.
‘Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin’ has been developed simultaneously for both console and PC. The game introduces DirectStep™, an innovative real-time strategy interface for players using a controller, while also offering a traditional mouse and keyboard RTS control scheme for PC players.
‘Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin’ is set to launch soon, and players can wishlist the game now.
