Tokyo-based video game publisher and developer Cygames, Inc. has announced the upcoming release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash. Set to launch in 2024, the game will be available on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Steam. This party action title introduces a fresh competitive twist to the world of Umamusume, now presented in a charming pixelated style.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash is set against the backdrop of the academy’s time-honored Spring Fan Fest, which will host a unique event this year: the Slapdash Grand Prix. The Grand Prix comprises four events: Hurtling Hurdles, Blazing Baskets, Dodgeball Demolition, and Gourmet Gauntlet. In each event, Umamusume from various teams will compete for victory, offering players the opportunity to select from a star-studded cast of characters.
The Hurtling Hurdles event is a sprawling obstacle course race that winds through the academy, shops, and even homes. Players will need to jump, climb, and fly over numerous hurdles to secure the top spot. Blazing Baskets turns every player into a rival on the court, where trick shots reign supreme and obstacles and items can disrupt the game at any moment.
Dodgeball Demolition is a dodgeball battle royale where the last one standing is the victor, requiring players to deliver savage shots to survive. The Gourmet Gauntlet is a race for the quickest feet and the largest stomachs, where players must serve dishes at lightning speed or devour them as if there’s no tomorrow.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash is part of Cygames’s Umamusume Project, a multimedia series featuring anime, manga, music, and games that tell the stories of racehorse-inspired characters known as Umamusume. These characters, along with their classmates and trainers, strive to achieve every racer’s dream—winning the Twinkle Series.
The game will support multiple languages, including Japanese, English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. It will allow 1-4 players, either locally or online.
