To get the most out of the game, you will need to play the Sport mode. In this guide, learn about the best tuning methods in Gran Turismo 7.
In Gran Turismo 7, playing against the AI is fun but you can get tired eventually and then there comes the multiplayer portion. Players who are looking for a more competitive mode can consider the Sport mode in which players compete in races to increase their driving rank (DR) however, to place in any race let alone win it you will need to know the best cars and tunings that can increase your chances of winning.
Now before we start you need to know that there are restrictions for each race regarding the weight and horsepower (HP) which is why this guide is important to know the best upgrades and cars.
How To Get The Best Tuning In Gran Turismo 7
Main Races in GT 7:
There are two main races that cycle in and out on daily bases.
- Race A
- Race B.
According to the sport mode of this game there is a third race that can be seen after the first two cycles out.
Conditions for Race B:
The deep forest raceway also known as race B requires the following conditions from a car.
- Road Car
- 295 HP or more
- No lighter than 2646 lbs
- No nitrous
- Hard Sports tires
Thats easy enough to meet these conditions, however, managing the Horsepower and the Weight can be hectic. Now the borderline for the Horsepower to enter race B is 276 HP and the weight being 3,200 pounds.
Only this will not be enough to have you stand out in a race and win, these are the following upgrades that will further more increase your chances on winning.
Upgrade and Customize Computer
Basically it limits your overall HP to meet the required amount, while costing 4500 in game credits this can be very helpful for detuning your high level cars to meet the maximum HP requirements. Computer upgrade can be found under the semi racing tab.
Get The Power Restrictor
This upgrade, similar to the customized computer while costing only 800 credits can be found in the tuning shop, under the club sports tab. This piece is essentially for Sport Mode and for limiting your horsepower according to the requirements of the race, by restricting the engine intake it restricts the engine power. To get the HP that’s required you will need to use this restrictor with a full customised computer which can be hectic believe me but put more effort till you get the exact HP mark.
Tweak Ballast
What this does is basically adds a solid 200kg weight or 441 pounds to your car for only 500 credits which can really be handy if you have an underweight car for your race.
How To Get Ready For Sport Mode
While all players usually run there vehicles around the same HP and top speed around 140-150 MPH, you might be thinking “then why is my car the slowest” the answer to that is simple. Its not about the speed or the horsepower, its about the acceleration, which basically means how much time you take to get to that speed, the quicker you do, the faster your car will take off compared to the others even if they have more HP.
This can be done using various upgrades and ways, buying the body rigidity from the tuning shop, fully customised transmissions are a great way speed up your acceleration. Having the perfect brakes and suspension for you car helps you slide across those tight narrow turns way more easily. Racing brake pad and kits work best, buy them from the tuning shop.
Keeping in mind every setting works different for each car, you can also get either the sports suspension or the fully customised suspension for your car, both basically similar but the fully customised suspension lets you change your wheel angle. You can play around with what works best for you but we recommend keeping the front lower than the back, having the back around 10-15 ticks higher.
What Is The Best Car For Sport Mode
Eight out of the ten of the best considered racers of the Race B use the L500 Hybrid VGT 2017. This car can be bought from the brand central for 1 million in game credits, You’ll find the L500 Hybrid under the European tab in Brand Central. Scroll down to France and select Peugeot .other than that you cant make any tuning upgrades except the Ballast for adjusting the weight and this is a overpowering car that can make you win almost every daily race B if you know what your doing.
R32 GT-R V-spec II ’94 used to be driven by the number one ranked driver, who set the world time record, however, this car cant be bought, you can get it as a reward from Gran Turismo 7 after unlocking the 18th Menu Book.
A million in game credits can be earned by doing the World Circuit races but putting in that much of your effort and time just to find out a new meta car that comes up costing the same amount can be heart breaking, which is why fortunately the meta car for race A is Aqua S ’11, you can only use three cars for race A but mostly everyone has the Aqua S ’11.
