Gunfire Games, the developer of Remnant 2, has been actively addressing the technical issues players have encountered while playing the game. The team is committed to updating and maintaining the game post-launch, and they have shared a list of fixes for some common issues to help players get back to enjoying the game.
All Known Issues and Fixes For Remnant 2
General Performance
Some players have reported issues with the game’s overall performance. In response, Gunfire Games has assured that they will roll out performance updates after the game’s launch. The game was designed with upscaling in mind (DLSS/FSR/XeSS), and leaving the Upscaling settings as they are should provide the smoothest gameplay. Changes to Shadow Settings, besides Upscaling, can make the biggest difference for better performance.
Game Requires DX12 Error
Players encountering this error can try the following steps:
- Ensure that your Windows is up-to-date and that you’ve got the latest drivers installed.
- For Nvidia users, install the latest Nvidia driver (make sure to tick the “clean install” checkbox) and restart your computer after the video driver install. If needed, uninstall the game completely, then reinstall it.
- Some players have succeeded by installing the Nvidia Studio Driver instead of the Game Ready Driver.
- Adding -d3d12 to the command line has solved some players’ issues, despite the error message suggesting otherwise.
Out Of Memory when Loading (4090 + others)
This problem seems to occur more often with 4090s and specifically 13900k Chips, but it might also happen with other models. If you encounter this issue, let the team know what hardware you’re using. Some players have had limited success with starting the game in Windows 8 Compatibility Mode, tweaking/lowering graphics settings, and disabling overclocking.
Ar750 Graphics Card owners
A rendering issue has been identified with Arc750 graphics cards. While a fix is being worked on for the general game branch, players can change their Steam build to Beta_Arc750. This beta branch will fix the issue.
Corrupted Saves
If your save files get corrupted, backups of the save file are kept in the same folder as your other save games. You can locate your save folder, back up the whole folder, and restore to a previously uncorrupted version of your save.
UI Hitch on PC when Leaving Menu
An issue causing a UI hitch on the PC when leaving the menu has been identified, and a fix will be included in the first patch.
