Ratata Arts and Game Source Entertainment have officially launched Ratatan into Steam Early Access today, September 18, 2025. To mark the occasion, the team has released a new cinematic trailer alongside a message from producer Kazuto Sakajiri, highlighting the journey so far and what lies ahead for the rhythm-driven action title.
The release comes with a limited-time 10 percent discount, allowing early adopters to step into Ratatan’s unique blend of rhythm and strategy at a lower entry price. According to Sakajiri, the Early Access build integrates extensive community feedback gathered from the game’s demo, which was downloaded more than 270,000 times during June’s Steam Next Fest. Adjustments to tutorials and the user interface were among the key improvements made based on survey responses and reviews.
Sakajiri emphasized that Early Access represents “a new starting line” rather than a final milestone, reaffirming the team’s commitment to further refining the game through player feedback. Currently, Ratatan features multiple worlds to explore, companion characters to recruit, online multiplayer support for up to four players, and procedural elements that ensure variety with each run.
Looking ahead, the developers shared a roadmap of upcoming content. By the end of October, players can expect the introduction of “Super Fever Skills” and new upgrade systems, followed in December by the addition of the Dark Ratatan Battles scenario. Larger expansions, including fresh worlds and major boss encounters, are scheduled for spring 2026.
To support the launch, Ratatan will also be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 from September 25 to 28 at booth 02-C08 in the Game Source Entertainment area. Visitors will be able to try the Early Access version and receive exclusive giveaways, such as a Ratatan pin badge and Rhythm Command hand fan.
With roots in rhythm, strategy, and roguelite design, Ratatan aims to deliver a cooperative yet challenging experience for both solo and multiplayer audiences. The developers encourage ongoing community input through Steam reviews and feedback forms as the game continues to evolve.
