Mega Dragonite Reveal in Pokémon Legends Z-A Trailer Seemingly Confirms Massive Leak of 26 New Mega Evolutions

GIStaffBy GIStaffAugust 2, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The latest trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A seems to have proven that one of the biggest and most detailed leaks we’ve seen for the franchise was real. The new footage shows Mega Dragonite for the first time, and it looks exactly like what was leaked earlier, which makes the rumored list of 26 Mega Evolutions and a bunch of returning characters seem way more believable. The leak originally came from well-known insiders like The_Ballguy and CentroLeaks, and now it looks like they were right after seeing this stuff confirmed.

The trailer showed several important characters that were first mentioned in the leak months ago, including Mabel, Emma from the X and Y post-game content, and the mysterious mafia boss Corbeau (which was originally mistranslated as Corivvau), plus his unnamed right-hand person. Having them in the game not only makes the leak look more legit but also hints that this could be one of the most story-heavy Pokémon games we’ve gotten.

The biggest thing is probably Mega Dragonite, which showed up with a cool new design that matches exactly what the leaker described. The Pokémon now has big, angel-like wings instead of its original antennae, a glowing blue orb near the tip of its tail, and extra wings that look like something from Hermes’ boots. This much detail being right makes it seem like the whole list of 26 new Mega Evolutions—many with equally fancy designs—is probably real.

Some of the leaked Mega Evolutions include fan favorites like Clefable (Fairy/Flying), Feraligatr (Water/Dragon), Skarmory, Emboar, Eelektross, Greninja, Chandelure, and even Zygarde. Artist drawings and design descriptions for these new forms supposedly came from someone connected to the Pokémon fan artist Makio_JRoses, who has worked with reliable leakers before. People are especially excited about Mega Eelektross because of its rumored abilities and how it looks, making it one of the most wanted new Megas.

The leak also talks about a bunch of important story stuff, and the trailer seemed to back up some of it. According to these reports, Lysandre is coming back as the character called “L” and will be directly connected to Zygarde, whom players have to fight multiple times during the game. Professor Sycamore also returns, and there are hints about deeper story connections between the main character, Lysandre, and a new character named Jett to the legendary figure AZ. The subtitle “Z-A” apparently refers to the central tower called “Ange,” which is important to the main conflict.

Besides the returning characters and Mega Evolutions, the leaked stuff includes supposed plot points like one of the immortals dying, the rival character being connected to major story figures, and the game having moral choices. This fits with the more story-focused approach we saw in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which Z-A is supposed to follow up on.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A comes out on October 16, 2025, for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. While they originally announced it as a Switch game, the enhanced version for the new console will probably have better graphics and performance.
