Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima 2 is set to be announced soon, while Naughty Dog’s next game is not The Last of Us Part 3, based on the latest rumor.

Twitter/X user Silknigth, who has correctly leaked the Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima PC announcements, now claims that Sony Interactive Entertainment will announce Ghost of Tsushima 2 sometime soon. Additionally, they mentioned that The Last of Us Part 3 is not Naughty Dog’s active project, as the studio is currently working on a new IP.

As for the next entry in Guerrilla Games’ Horizon series, the insider mentioned that it will take a bit longer to be revealed, which would make sense, given how Horizon Forbidden West was release around 2 years ago.

For those wondering what the next PC first-party release from Sony Interactive Entertainment will be, the Twitter/X user stated that it would be none other than The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. As per them, it is set to be released this year in 2024, sometime after the release of the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima on May 16, 2024.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Naughty Dog’s next project being a new IP. Previously, the Linkedin profile of Colin Lorimer, Story Artist at Naughty Dog, indicated that he is had been working on the studio’s new IP. No further details regarding the project were mentioned in his resume. The illustrator’s recent projects include HBO’s The Last of Us TV series, James Gunn’s Peacemaker, Disney’s Peter Pan and Wendy, and Naughty Dog’s canceled multiplayer Factions project.

Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, had shared during an earlier episode of Kinda Funny’s Spoilercast discussion that the studio had undergone restructuring to facilitate the simultaneous development of multiple game projects, whether they are new IPs, sequels, or a combination of both. He talked about the studio’s expanded team of producers, game directors, and writers, emphasizing the improved organization compared to the past.
