Krafton and solo developer James Bendon have announced that Dinkum, a survival life simulation game inspired by the Australian outback, will launch on Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 6, 2025. The announcement was made during Nintendo’s Direct showcase on September 12.
Originally released on PC via Steam, Dinkum has sold more than 1.4 million copies and maintains a 92 percent “Very Positive” user rating. The game entered Steam Early Access in July 2022 and transitioned to a full 1.0 release in April 2025 after five years of development.
In Dinkum, players establish settlements on a remote island, gathering resources through farming, fishing, mining, hunting, and crafting. The title also includes cooperative play, allowing up to four players to develop their towns together. The Switch version will retain these features while making the game available to a wider audience.
Ahead of its November launch, Nintendo Switch players can access a free demo through the eShop. Pre-orders are available from September 12 through November 5, with a 10 percent discount and an exclusive in-game costume set offered as bonuses. Krafton confirmed that physical editions are also planned, with pre-orders expected to open soon.
The Switch release represents a milestone for Dinkum, expanding its reach beyond PC to the console market. Its success as an independent project, developed primarily by Bendon, has been credited to its mix of life simulation and survival elements, as well as its distinctive Australian setting.
Dinkum will be available globally on Nintendo Switch on November 6, 2025, at 0:00 UTC.
