Battlefield 6 Priced at €80 on Consoles, Phantom Edition Details and October Release Date Leak

New information has emerged about Battlefield 6, the next installment in EA’s long-running military shooter franchise, indicating both pricing and launch details ahead of its official reveal. According to multiple leaks, the game will be priced at €80 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, while PC users will see a slightly lower entry point at €70.

A higher-tier Phantom Edition has also been uncovered, reportedly costing €100 on PC and €110 on consoles. While no early access or special bonuses tied to preorders or subscriptions have been mentioned, the Phantom Edition is expected to include premium content, possibly cosmetics or bundled access to post-launch material. Cover art for this edition has also surfaced, though it remains unofficial.

The game’s first major trailer is set to premiere on July 31, running two minutes and twenty-one seconds in length. That date will also mark the opening of preorders, with the current release date tentatively scheduled for October 10. However, leakers caution that the date may still shift, as it has not been finalized by EA.

The title, which has been referred to internally by its development codename Glacier, is the result of a collaborative effort between DICE, Criterion Games, Ripple Effect Studios, and Motive Studio. Ridgeline Games was also previously involved, particularly in development of the singleplayer component before its dissolution.

Battlefield 6 will return to a modern-day setting and features a large-scale conflict between two fictional powers: NATO and Pax Armata. The game reportedly emphasizes a more grounded experience by reintroducing the traditional class-based system, moving away from the Specialist mechanics of recent entries. This design direction was confirmed in February through Battlefield Labs, a testing initiative that aims to refine core systems based on player feedback.

Multiplayer will again support large-scale battles, with current testing focused on 64-player matches. The Battlefield Portal mode, which debuted in Battlefield 2042, is also set to return. Testing of the pre-alpha version is limited to select players in Europe and North America, with participation bound by non-disclosure agreements.

The singleplayer campaign, handled in part by Motive, appears to draw inspiration from grounded conflict dramas such as Lioness and Civil War, focusing on ordinary individuals caught in the chaos of war. Developers Roman Campos-Oriola and Philippe Ducharme described their aim as combining emotionally resonant storytelling with the cinematic flair fans have come to expect. Their work on Star Wars: Squadrons and the Dead Space remake is said to inform the tone and pacing of the campaign.

While EA has yet to confirm these leaks, a full reveal of Battlefield 6 is expected on July 24. Given the scale of information already circulating and the consistency across sources, official details may soon follow. If accurate, players can expect to experience the next generation of Battlefield warfare when the game launches later this year.
