Absolum Soundtrack Preview Released Ahead of October Launch

GIStaffBy GIStaffSeptember 13, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Dotemu has released a new video preview highlighting the soundtrack of Absolum, an upcoming action RPG and beat ‘em up hybrid scheduled to launch on October 9, 2025. The game is being developed jointly by Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks, and will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

The soundtrack, led by composer Gareth Coker, features contributions from well-known figures in the industry, including Mick Gordon, recognized for his work on DOOM Eternal, and Yuka Kitamura, who composed for Elden Ring. The preview also teases a track from Motoi Sakuraba, whose past credits include Dark Souls and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The video presentation offers fans an early look at how the music is designed to complement the game’s combat and narrative themes.

Alongside the preview, Dotemu and Kid Katana Records announced that a vinyl edition of the soundtrack is now available for pre-order. The double LP features original artwork and a crimson-colored design. In addition, four tracks by Gareth Coker from the game’s soundtrack have been made available for streaming through Kid Katana Records.

Absolum is set in the world of Talamh, where a magical catastrophe has led to the rise of the Sun King Azra, a ruler seeking to dominate all sources of magic. Players will follow a band of rebels empowered by ancient mystical forces as they attempt to resist Azra’s control. The game combines traditional brawler mechanics with role-playing elements such as branching paths, quests, and permanent character upgrades.

The title has been developed in collaboration with Supamonks, an animation studio previously involved in projects such as Rabbids Invasion: Mission to Mars. According to the developers, the aim is to merge arcade-inspired melee combat with strategic elements like spells, counters, and customizable abilities across a variety of hand-crafted stages.

Absolum follows Dotemu’s previous work in revitalizing classic beat ‘em up gameplay, following the releases of Streets of Rage 4 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
