Grow a Garden – How to Get the Phoenix Pet and What It Does

GIStaffBy GIStaffSeptember 7, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Grow a Garden continues to expand its roster of pets, and the Phoenix is among the most exciting additions yet. With a powerful mutation bonus, a unique passive ability, and both standard and Rainbow versions to collect, the Phoenix offers a meaningful edge to players focused on fruit mutations and pet development. This guide explains exactly what the Phoenix does, how to obtain it, and why it is worth adding to your collection.

What the Phoenix Does

The Phoenix is not just another companion; it comes with several useful perks that improve both your garden and your pets.

  • Age Bonus: Pets taken from the mutation machine receive an additional 1 to 4.9 age value, helping them grow stronger more quickly.
  • Flaming Mutation: Every six minutes, the Phoenix travels between four random fruits in your garden, applying a special “flaming mutation.”
  • Passive Mutation Chance: Fruits touched by the Phoenix also have a 20 percent chance to mutate naturally.

These abilities make the Phoenix a reliable long-term investment, particularly for players who want to maximize mutation efficiency.

How to Get the Phoenix

Obtaining the Phoenix requires some effort and a little luck. There are two main methods:

1. Enchanted Chests

  • The Phoenix has a 1 percent chance of appearing in Enchanted Chests.
  • To craft an Enchanted Chest, you will need:
    • 6,000 Fairy Points
    • 1 Enchanted Egg
    • 1 Enchanted Seed Pack
    • 1 Sunbul

2. Fairy World

  • Access the Fairy World portal, which opens for 30 minutes every hour.
  • Inside, you can purchase Enchanted Chests using Fairy Points earned by catching fairies.

How to Get the Rainbow Phoenix

For those aiming for the more powerful variant, the Rainbow Phoenix, the process is different. It can only be obtained by opening a Rainbow Sack, available for purchase in the in-game shop.

Phoenix Pet Stats Summary

  • Mutation Bonus: +1 to 4.9 age value in the mutation machine.
  • Flaming Mutation: Every six minutes, four random fruits receive the flaming mutation.
  • Passive Mutation Chance: Fruits touched by the Phoenix have a 20 percent chance to mutate.

The Phoenix is one of the most valuable pets currently available in Grow a Garden, combining growth bonuses with powerful passive mutation effects. While its 1 percent drop rate makes it difficult to obtain, dedicated players who farm Fairy Points and invest in Enchanted Chests will eventually reap the reward. The Rainbow Phoenix adds further prestige for collectors and dedicated players alike, making it a worthy goal for anyone invested in the game’s pet system.
