In Grounded 2, secrets are scattered across the oversized backyard world, rewarding observant players with valuable materials and collectibles. One of the more intriguing mysteries involves a locked briefcase perched on the picnic table. At first glance, the briefcase appears to be just another part of the scenery, but with the right combination code, it opens to reveal an assortment of high-value loot. Here is everything you need to know about finding the code and unlocking the case.
Where to Find the Briefcase
The briefcase is located on the surface of the large picnic table found in the picnic area region of the map. Getting there will likely require some platforming or creative climbing using environmental props, so be prepared with enough stamina and tools to traverse the area. Once on top of the table, the locked case will be immediately visible.
The briefcase features a pair of combination locks, one on the left and one on the right, each requiring a three-digit code. To unlock the full mechanism, both halves of the code must be discovered in the environment and entered correctly.
Finding the Briefcase Code
The combination to open the briefcase is split into two parts:
- Left Side Code: 137
This number can be found printed on a crossword puzzle located near the picnic bench area. The puzzle is one of several interactive environmental elements that serve as clues for progression. You will need to examine it closely to identify the digits. - Right Side Code: 514
This half of the code appears on a torn scrap of paper that can be tricky to spot. It is also located within the general vicinity of the picnic area, possibly hidden among scattered objects or embedded in nearby props. Keep your eyes open for small pieces of paper or surfaces with faint markings.
Once you have both halves of the code, interact with the briefcase. Enter 137 on the left-hand side and press the corresponding latch until it unlocks. Then, enter 514 on the right-hand side and do the same. If entered correctly, the case will click open and reveal its contents.

The briefcase contains several valuable items, making the effort well worth it. Inside, players can expect to find:
