To complete the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War “Mind Trip” achievement, players need to be prepared to follow a specific path. Some achievements in Call of Duty: Black Ops are more difficult than others. While some can be unlocked simply by playing the game, others require multiple playthroughs. This is especially true for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which offers several different endings.
One of the challenges tasks players with seeing all 7 possible endings to the mission “Break on Through.” To unlock the coveted Mind Trip achievement/trophy, players must get through all 4 path ends.
How to Unlock the Black Ops Cold War Mind Trip Achievement
Players will need to go through several scenarios multiple times to unlock this achievement. First, start the mission “Break on Through.” In this mission, players will face several different scenarios. There are a total of four scenarios, and in each, the player must either obey or disobey Adler’s orders. Each path taken will lead to a different ending.
First Playthrough:
- Follow Adler’s Instructions:
- First Scenario: Cave path.
- Second Scenario: Village path.
- Third Scenario: Napalm strike path.
- Fourth Scenario: Decide whether to follow Adler’s instructions or not.
In the four intended memory endings, players will end up in a room where Perseus is staring at a board.
Second Playthrough:
- Disobey Adler’s Instructions:
- Throughout the first three scenarios, take different paths than before.
To find the fourth secret path during this playthrough, take the right path during the first fork instead of the cave path. Move towards the Lenin Statue and find a hidden trapdoor. Enter the trapdoor to access the fourth secret path.
Keep in mind that players must die in the scenario to progress. Continue through the red door hallways until the seventh and final memory ending is unlocked. Completing this second run-through will unlock the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War “Mind Trip” achievement.
