For now, we are not sure if this trouble is getting a permanent fix or not but at least the Blizzard support has taken keen notice of it and is assuring us that they are trying to fix this issue as soon as possible.
However, we have some solutions that can temporarily help you with this complication. But these solutions are not promising that they would 100% work for you. Try all of them and one might work for you in the end.
You can try it out by creating a new character. Log back into character selection and then choose the character that you were trying to play with.
Secondly, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.Then go to Battle.net. Quit the game and restart Diablo 2 Resurrected. Now go to the character selection and choose the one you want to play with.
If none of them works for you then play it offline until the Blizzard team comes to the rescue.
