NBA 2K21 Update 1.10 Corrupts Save Data For Some Users, Here’s a Fix

NBA 2K21 was updated to version 1.10 today by 2K Sports. After the installation of this update, users are now reporting corrupted save data.

The update that has been released today appears to be separate from the current-generation update that launched recently. There are no official patch notes for this update but based on the comments made by several users, it can lead to save data getting corrupted especially on PC.

NBA 2K21 Update 1.10 Patch Notes

  • Improved the stability of the title in addition to a number of general improvements to the user experience.

NBA 2K21 users might face the message “USERDATA” CORRUPTION when launching the game after the update. Here’s a fix that was shared by 2K Sports.

This error message appears after the reserved space was cleared.

If you don’t know what reserved space is, please read up on it with this article.

Reserved space data will be re-downloaded by the game, but if the process is canceled (after the game rebooted), you’ll no longer be able to play any online modes or access any of their online connected files.

To ensure that the data is downloaded correctly, please attempt the following:

  1. Load the game.
  2. Select the Play Now option. Do NOT head into a game.
    • Don’t you do it.
  3. Please stay on that menu.

If you’re playing on a PlayStation 4, you can leave your console in Rest Mode while the data is downloading.

After a few hours (or longer, depending on your internet connection), you will receive a notification in yellow font on the bottom left of your screen telling you to return to the main menu. Once you do, your game will be fully updated and your reserved data will be reinstalled.

We can’t stress this enough: Do not delete a game’s reserved space on your hard drive.
