Final Fantasy XIV Update 9.18 Patch Notes
- Features of the PlayStation®5 DualSense™ Wireless Controller and PlayStation®4 DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller can now be used on the Windows version (DirectX® 11 only).
- To make use of these features, the DualSense™ Wireless Controller requires a USB connection, and the DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller requires either a USB connection or a DUALSHOCK®4 USB Wireless Adapter CUH-ZWA1x*.
* The model number for the DUALSHOCK®4 USB Wireless Adapter may vary according to the region where it is sold.
* Please be advised that not all features are available when connecting via a standard Windows Bluetooth connection.
* When establishing a connection, your active Windows sound device may be set to the wireless controller. Please adjust your sound settings as needed.

Support for Embody’s Immerse Spatial Audio has been added (DirectX® 11 only).
- Requires the purchase of a license from the Embody website and installation of their gamepack. Immerse Spatial Audio is an original sound add-on produced by Embody that brings 360-degree personalized spatial audio to the world of FINAL FANTASY XIV. Once the gamepack has been installed, the add-on can be enabled under the Sound Settings tab of the System Configuration menu.

- The sound engine has been improved to more easily discern sound effects when a large group of players are present.

- In preparation for the Oceanian data center, the data center selection screen has been adjusted.
- When UI Resolution Settings is set to High (WQHD/4K), the Title and Character Selection screens will also use high resolution fonts. (Windows®/Mac/PlayStation®5)
- The PlayStation®5 version will now always use high resolution settings.
- The following additions and adjustments have been made to the game launcher (Windows®/PlayStation®4/PlayStation®5)
- The design has been changed.
- Theme settings have been added.
- A light and dark theme setting have been added in the Config menu of the game launcher.
- An option to restore game data has been added (Windows version)
- This option is recommended when encountering gameplay or launch errors due to corrupted files.
- The title screen logo and opening movie have been changed to those of Endwalker.
- The opening movie for Shadowbringers can be viewed by selecting Movies at the Title screen.
- Reaper and sage have been added to the solo rankings for Palace of the Dead and Heaven-on-High.
