Final Fantasy VIII Remastered has been updated to version 1.0.3 today by Square Enix. You can find out the complete patch notes from here.
This is a minor hotfix that only appears to resolve a single issue related to localization on the new Windows 11. Apparently, if you tried to play the game in Japanese on Windows 11, it wouldn’t be possible for some reason. This issue has been fixed with the new patch.
