Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water has been updated to version 1.02 today by Koei Tecmo. Find out the complete patch notes here.
According to the known issues list for the game, there was a bug that prevented players from loading the game after pausing it from the menu. The only choice was to restart the game to resolve it. An update was being planned to fix the issue, and this might be available to download now today on PlayStation consoles.

It has been confirmed that there is a bug that prevents players from selecting “LOAD GAME” from the title menu after pausing the game.
If this happens, please try restarting the console to see if the “LOAD GAME” option becomes available before selecting “NEW GAME”.We will be releasing a patch soon to fix the saving/loading issues.
