Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha has received an update to version 1.01 today. The Alpha is set to arrive soon so this appears to be related to it.
As discovered on Twitter, this Alpha is available for PS4 and PS5. There is no indication this Alpha is releasing for Xbox or other platforms for now. In the past, these were usually exclusive to the PS4 for a limited time and then released on other platforms.

- Security and stability fixes.
Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha will likely include the Champion Hill map since this is a part of the thumbnail. The download size is around 20 GB on PS5. It is reportedly lower on the PS4.
The Twitter account ModernWarZone appears to suggest that this Alpha will be available from September 10 to 12. An open beta is planned from September 16 to 20 and would be available on all platforms. The new gameplay mode featured in the Alpha has been described as a mix of battle royale with the 3×3 gunfights that were seen in Modern Warfare. There will be a total of 8 teams composed of three members and the last one standing will win the round.
