The season 1 DLC for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s latest entry in the Tekken fighting game series, Tekken 8, has allegedly been datamined.

Twitter user shootmans claims to have used Cheat Engine on Tekken 8 to datamine the DLC characters that will be added to the game in Season 1. As per his claim, he has confirmed and debunked several leaks during the Tekken 8 CNT, and said that he used the same methods for the final release.

The Twitter user mentioned that clues to Eddy being included in the Season 1 characters exists in the strings that were datamined from the Tekken 8 game files. Capoeira is listed as a fighting style in the text for the character select screen. Brazil is also listed as a country of origin for a character. As per them, there is also evidence that suggests Marduk will be included in Season 1 as a DLC character. Additionally, a Muay Thai fighter from Thailand is mentioned in the datamined files. There’s also evidence that suggests Lidia will be included in Tekken 8 Season 1.

Tekken 8 was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on January 26, 2024. It is the eighth canonical release and the tenth overall entry in the Tekken series. The game’s story mode, titled “The Dark Awakens,” is set six months after the events of its predecessor and revolves around the final showdown between father Kazuya Mishima and son Jin Kazama. Jin seeks to end the familial chaos by defeating his father. Tekken 8 features a roster of 32 characters, both returning favorites and new additions, each contributing to the overarching narrative.

The game retains the traditional fighting game format of the series. Producer Katsuhiro Harada described it as “more aggressive” than its predecessor, with a focus on rewarding proactive attacking. The introduction of the “Heat” system allows characters to unlock enhanced abilities, including chip damage and additional movesets. The fighters can also perform dash cancels while in the “Heat” state. Chip damage is inflicted when guarding against heavy attacks or Heat State characters, with health regeneration achievable only through offensive actions against opponents.
