Sega and Paramount Pictures have announced the release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 confirming it will arrive in theatres on December 20, 2024.
Sonic The Hedgehog has proven to be a major hit for Paramount Pictures. The first movie was released just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and made $320 million worldwide. It was deemed a success for a sequel to be greenlit.
The sequel arrived earlier this year and has proven to be even more successful. It made more than $400 million worldwide leading to a third entry being announced today.

Sonic the Hedgehog is an action-adventure comedy film based on the Japanese video game franchise Sonic the Hedgehog. It stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic, as well as James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey. Sonic (voiced by Schwartz) is a blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds.
Sonic the Hedgehog was launched on February 14, 2020, in North America. It was the biggest opening weekend for a video game film in the United States and Canada.
