Resident Evil Requiem Leak Suggests Leon Kennedy’s Return With a New Look

A newly surfaced leak has sparked speculation among Resident Evil fans, suggesting that Leon S. Kennedy may make his return in Resident Evil: Requiem with an updated design. The alleged image shows what appears to be an older Leon, reminiscent of the visual overhaul given to Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 7 and Village.

Capcom has officially promoted Resident Evil: Requiem as a fresh chapter for the series, introducing players to FBI agent Grace Ashcroft as its lead protagonist. However, ongoing insider reports and community discussions have consistently pointed to Leon’s involvement. While initial trailers have remained focused on Grace, rumors indicate that Leon could become a key figure later in the game, potentially even serving as a secondary playable character.

Game director Koshi Nakanishi previously commented on the decision to exclude Leon from the central role, describing him as a “bad match for horror” given his veteran experience. Some fans, however, believe this statement was intended to downplay his eventual inclusion, especially as the title is confirmed to feature both first-person and third-person perspectives. Many interpret this design choice as a deliberate division between Grace’s investigative gameplay and Leon’s more combat-driven approach.

The supposed leak has only added fuel to ongoing speculation, as Leon’s return would mark another high-profile reappearance of a fan-favorite character in the franchise. This approach mirrors how Capcom has gradually reintroduced long-standing protagonists in recent entries while experimenting with new characters.

Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, Resident Evil: Requiem marks the ninth mainline installment in the survival horror series. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with expectations now heightened around whether Leon will indeed step back into the spotlight.
