Metal Gear Solid series is another tentpole franchise of Konami that might be making a return soon based on a new rumor from Raiden’s voice actor.
Quinton Flynn, who voices Raiden in Metal Gear Solid, has hinted at some announcement happening related to the series in the coming weeks.
In a response to his fans, Quinton Flynn appeared to subtly hint at the MGS-related announcement ahead. This follows an earlier report from the insider The Snitch who talked about Sony holding a showcase for third-party content soon.
This is not the only rumor regarding the Metal Gear Solid series. As we have covered in the past, PlayStation might be working in partnership with Konami to bring an MGS Remake for the PS5. They are already doing it with another Konami IP, Silent Hill 2, which will be a PlayStation console exclusive for 1 year.
There are also rumors regarding potential remasters for the MGS trilogy which has yet to get a release on the
Metal Gear Solid IP has been long dormant since the departure of the creator and producer of the series, Hideo Kojima. Kojima left Konami to form his own studio, Kojima Productions, and they are currently working on a Death Stranding sequel.
After Kojima left Konami, he made Death Stranding, which was a new IP that was developed in partnership with Sony PlayStation. Meanwhile, Konami tried to get an MGS project out with the launch of Metal Gear Survive, but it was a critical and commercial failure for them. It also led put the franchise on ice for a long time until rumors about a possible revival happened recently.
