Jurassic Park: Survival Receives Fresh Update, Sparking New Trailer Speculation

GIStaffBy GIStaffJuly 20, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Jurassic Park: Survival may be inching closer to a new reveal, as recent activity on its Steam database has reignited speculation regarding the long-awaited first-person action-adventure title. Developed and published by Saber Interactive, the game promises to return players to the iconic Isla Nublar in a survival experience set the day after the events of the original 1993 film.

The most recent change in the game’s Steam database was observed this week, with updated listings under the trailers section. While the nature of these updates remains undisclosed, they mark the latest in a series of backend movements suggesting that new promotional material could be on the horizon. This follows a notable update from May 6, when content descriptors were revised, potentially indicating plans for post-launch downloadable content. Speculation among fans suggests that this DLC might include character skins based on classic figures from the 1993 film, such as Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler, possibly offered as pre-order incentives.

Despite this activity, it appears unlikely that any imminent announcement from Saber Interactive will relate to Jurassic Park: Survival. The studio is preparing for a separate reveal, rumored to be tied to a Hellraiser project, as indicated by teaser posts and insider reports. Content creators have reportedly previewed this unrelated announcement, further dimming hopes for a sudden Jurassic Park update this month.

Instead, attention has shifted to larger industry events later in the year. With Gamescom’s Opening Night Live set for August under the helm of Geoff Keighley, and The Game Awards scheduled for December, both are considered prime stages for Saber and Universal to unveil new footage or details. Universal producer John Melchior previously hinted via LinkedIn that news concerning Jurassic Park: Survival is still expected before the end of 2025, aligning with these high-profile events.

Jurassic Park: Survival is being developed as a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game. Players assume the role of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist stranded on Isla Nublar after the failed evacuation. The game promises a tense survival experience featuring stealth-based encounters with dinosaurs whose behaviors adapt to the player’s actions. Exploration will reportedly span key locations from the original film, including the Visitor Center and other iconic landmarks, brought to life with modern visuals and atmospheric design.

Although Saber Interactive has not confirmed a release date, the studio’s decision to prominently feature the game on Steam suggests that PC will be a core platform, alongside likely console versions. The official Steam page describes the title as featuring intense science fiction horror elements, human and dinosaur combat scenarios, and an emphasis on survival mechanics, with full system requirements yet to be announced.

Jurassic Park: Survival represents Saber Interactive’s latest venture with a high-profile licensed property, following their previous success with titles like World War Z and SnowRunner. However, this project also carries the weight of legacy, given that a game of the same title was once in development by Savage Entertainment in the early 2000s before its cancellation. The new Survival aims to reclaim that legacy with a fresh narrative and a modern gameplay approach.

While fans eagerly await official news, the continued activity in the Steam backend serves as a reminder that something new may not be far off. Whether it arrives at Gamescom, The Game Awards, or another venue, the anticipation surrounding Jurassic Park: Survival remains strong as the game prepares to bring players back to Isla Nublar for a new survival challenge.
