CD PROJEKT RED and Epic Games announced today that Geralt of Rivia, the monster slayer, will be included in Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 4 Battle Pass.
As a result of the partnership between the two video game development studios, witcher Geralt will join Chapter 4 as a mid-season unlock. The character is most known from CD PROJEKT RED’s award-winning The Witcher franchise, particularly The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will receive a free next-generation upgrade in December.
Along with the news comes a teaser for the next chapter of Fortnite, which has a cameo from Geralt of Rivia – curious gamers may watch for themselves to discover how the witcher’s own costume and look are transformed into Fortnite’s expressive graphic style.
More information about The Witcher series of games, including the upcoming free next-gen update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can be found on the official website.
CD PROJEKT RED, located in Warsaw and has operations in Kraków and Wrocaw, Poland, was founded in 2002 out of pure enthusiasm for video games.
Following the popularity of The Witcher’s first game, the company aimed higher and began production on a sequel. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which was released on PC in 2011 and Xbox 360 a year later, quickly became one of the most critically acclaimed role-playing games in recent memory. What began as a small, skeleton-crew studio has grown into a premier RPG developer, employing over 800 people from all over the world and setting standards for the entire industry in terms of game quality and approach to gamers.
