The official store listings for Xbox Game Pass have been updated by Microsoft, revealing the list of games set to depart from the service in the near future.
Leaving Xbox Game Pass In January 2024
The following games are set to leave Xbox Game Pass on January 15:
- Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox)
- Persona 3 Portable (Xbox, PC)
- Persona 4 Golden (Xbox, PC)
- Garden Story (Xbox, PC)
- MotoGP 22 (Xbox, PC)
Players have the opportunity to try out or continue playing the aforementioned games before they bid farewell to the subscription service. Subscribers keen on retaining any of these titles can take advantage of their membership discount, saving up to 20% on their purchase.
Grand Theft Auto V is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the seventh main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, following 2008’s Grand Theft Auto IV, and the fifteenth installment overall. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas, based on Southern California, the single-player story follows three protagonists: retired bank robber Michael De Santa (Ned Luke), street gangster Franklin Clinton (Shawn Fonteno), and drug dealer and gunrunner Trevor Philips (Steven Ogg). They attempt heists while facing pressure from a corrupt government agency and powerful criminals. Players explore the open-world countryside and fictional city of Los Santos, based on Los Angeles.
The game world can be explored on foot or by vehicle, from either a third-person or first-person perspective. Players shuffle between the three protagonist throughout the story mode, both during and outside missions. The story revolves around heist sequences, with many missions involving gameplay featuring shooting and driving. A “wanted” system dictates the severity of the law enforcement’s response to player crimes. In Grand Theft Auto Online, the game’s multiplayer mode, up to 30 players participate in various cooperative and competitive game modes.
