The Christmas season is in full swing, and as many of us prepare to hibernate for the next week, publisher Assemble Entertainment and independent company BUNTSPECHT have released a new game. GAMES is excited to deliver some news that will make you as warm and fuzzy as your favourite hot chocolate.
Fall of Porcupine, the recently revealed intimate adventure game that deals with the challenges endured in the healthcare business, will be available – for free — to 1,000 healthcare personnel when it comes in 2023, according to the creator. This unique deal is only available to healthcare professionals in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada who use the Steam platform.
Finley, a recently graduated medical student preparing for his first residency in a brand new tiny town that appears pleasant and inviting…at first. Finley must seek guidance and support from his friends as he navigates a “unhealthy” healthcare sector that is rooting for his downfall, all while prioritising his mental health and self-care. The game is a passionate, vital story about the difficulties faced by healthcare workers, as well as a love letter to the human journey of self-discovery, self-love, and the joys that come with life’s minor (and great) triumphs.
To commemorate the news, the development team has created a brand-new devlog film in which they explore the inspirations and concepts behind their first-ever published title.
Given the publisher’s business tagline, “Saving the World,” this effort presented by the developer and Assemble Entertainment couldn’t be more appropriate. Game after game.” The tragic concept of Fall of Porcupine is based on over 20 interviews with healthcare experts from various industries undertaken by the development team. The teams came up with the concept to physically give back as a “thank you” to those who participated and everyone else who makes sacrifices to assist others.
