Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced that Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will release on March 19, 2026. The remaster is scheduled for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The release will include the original Dynasty Warriors 3 as well as content from its Xtreme Legends expansion. First launched in 2001 on PlayStation 2, the game became a cornerstone for the long-running hack-and-slash franchise, introducing features such as True Musou Attacks, two-player simultaneous play, and the officer development system. The Xtreme Legends expansion added new playable scenarios for officers like Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao, alongside additional weapons, bodyguard customization, and challenge modes.
According to Koei Tecmo, the remastered edition will be rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, featuring overhauled visuals designed to modernize the large-scale battlefield encounters. Players will once again command armies and face waves of opponents, with a roster of more than 40 officers available. The developers state that the project aims to preserve the scale and intensity of the original while refining it for contemporary hardware.
The announcement trailer highlighted the visual updates and teased the return of the large-scale “1 versus 1,000” combat for which the series has become known.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is currently in development and will be available on March 19, 2026, across multiple platforms.
