CD Projekt is not interested in being acquired by another company and is satisfied with its current position, as a majority of the studio’s development team continues to work “intensively” on The Witcher 4.
Speaking during an interview, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski stated that the company is not interested in being acquired by any larger entity. He mentioned that the company employees have worked all their lives to get to their current position. He believe that in a few years they will be even bigger and stronger.
Kicinski stated that the CD Projekt is currently working “intensively” on Project Polaris i.e. The Witcher 4. He revealed that over 330 employees are currently working on the project, and by the middle of next year there will be around 400 of them, which is practically the full team. As such, he said that work on the next big installment in The Witcher series is in full swing.
Th CD Projekt CEO also stated that the development team will be starting work on Project Orion, the next game set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. He mentioned that the conceptual stage began some time ago, and the studio has a clear vision of what the game is going to be. However, he added that the project’s development team is currently being built, and its core will be the staff the North American studio in Boston. From there, CD Projekt will build a larger structure, including its team from Vancouver. The game will also receive support from the Poland based development team.
In addition, CD Projekt will continue work on Project Sirius, another game set in the Witcher universe, as part of cooperation with the American studio The Molasses Flood, which is now owned by the company. A remake of the first The Witcher game will also be developed on collaboration with the team at Fool’s Theory.
