Atelier Yumia Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 Today

KOEI TECMO and developer Gust have announced the release of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land for Nintendo Switch 2, while also offering fans a first glimpse at the next entry in the long-running Atelier franchise.

Originally released in 2025, Atelier Yumia follows the story of Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions as they travel across the ruined continent of Aladiss in search of answers surrounding the collapse of the Aladissian Empire. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is available now digitally through the Nintendo eShop and introduces several platform-specific enhancements.

Among the new features is support for Nintendo Switch 2’s GameShare functionality, allowing two players to explore the world together. The updated version also benefits from improved graphical quality and higher frame rates compared to the original release.

Atelier Yumia represented a significant shift for the series when it launched, moving away from some of the franchise’s traditional structure in favour of a larger open-world design and a real-time combat system. Set in a world where alchemy has become forbidden following a mysterious catastrophe, the game sees players gathering resources throughout Aladiss to create items through synthesis and crafting systems.

The title also introduced new mechanics to the series, including the ability to craft items on the go through the Simple Synthesis feature rather than returning to a workshop. Players can also construct and customise their own base using the Building system, another first for the Atelier franchise.

To mark the Nintendo Switch 2 release, KOEI TECMO is offering both the game and the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade at a 43% discount on the Nintendo eShop until 20 June 2026.

Alongside the release announcement, Gust also revealed the next chapter in the Atelier series. Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is currently scheduled to launch in early 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Few details have been shared about the new project so far, though the publisher confirmed that additional information will be revealed on 12 June 2026.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, with Japanese voice acting and English, French, German, and Spanish text options.
