The new update to Returnal has brought some additional free content including an online co-op. This guide will let you know how to play it.
Returnal is a third-person shooter video game that was launched exclusively by Sony Entertainment for their new-gen console PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2021.
As a new update is launched in the game which gives the players accessibility to play two extra modes. There are two specific new modes in the game, namely:
- The first one is the Tower of Sisyphus (a survival mode).
- The second one is the co-op mode.
How To Play Online Co-Op In Returnal
Playing Returnal with other players online provides a new kind of experience. For players who have already completed the main story, co-op mode will enhance the game experience, and taking down the enemies with a friend will not make you feel alone. To play the game online with other players, you need to download the latest update available for the game. This update will add the new co-op mode in the game once you log in to it.
The mode is designed in such a manner that you first need to die and then return to the crash site. When you are at the crash site you will be able to see a large glowing orb, located at the right of Cthonos. The orb will take you to the co-op mode which is commonly known as Chronosis. Now, press Triangle to operate.
By selecting the Chronosis, players will be given three options to choose from. Following are the options:-
- Host Public Cycle
- Host Private Cycle
- Join a Cycle
Scout Rank:
Scout Rank is the score that will be arranged according to your competing statistic with players in the co-op mode. The stronger co-op partner you are, the higher will be your Scout Rank.
