You can find the Barrel Felyne after leaving the Felyne Shelter and heading into the Pomore Garden. You need to find out how to fly with a Rathalos in order to get here faster, but even if you don’t, just look at the red circle on the map which is where the Barrel Felyne is marked.
Once you reach the location, you won’t have to fight the monster. You can simply head into your inventory and use a Big Barrel Bomb to defeat the Barrel Felyne. You shouldn’t try to use normal attacks against the Barrel Felyne as it won’t lead to the completion of the quest.
You will get a reward of Zenny, XP, and 3 training charms after completing this quest. You can use the training charms to level up and increase your Monstie’s experience points by utilizing the Prayer Pot in the town.
