Resident Evil Village is out now, it’s a survival horror game and the tenth installment of the Resident Evil Series. Many players are just about to start Resident Evil Village but they wonder that at what difficulty they play on. There are a total of three difficulty modes to choose between in Resident Evil Village, and in this guide, we will tell you what’s the difference between each of them.

Resident Evil Village Difficulty Differences Explained

You will have to choose between three difficulty modes when you are going to start playing Resident Evil Village. Casual, Standard, and Hardcore are the three difficulty modes. You will only get a little information about each difficulty mode’s differences in the game, and their explanations are ambiguous.

  • Casual:

The description of Casual difficulty mode says “We’ll take it easy on you”. So it means that in this mode you will find more pick-ups, enemies will deal less harm, and you will be able to accomplish more.

  • Standard:

The description of standard difficulty says “just your average difficulty”. It means that damage and pick-ups are likely to be balanced on the standard difficulty just as the game was designed.

  • Hardcore:

The description of Hardcore difficulty says “We’ll hit you with all we’ve got.” It means that in this mode enemies will do more damage, and ammo and pick-ups will more scarce.

Standard difficulty mode is the obvious option, however, you can go for Hardcore, if you want a challenge and if you are new to a first-person survival horror game, Casual difficulty will be a great option. Each difficulty has a trophy tied to it, so keep that in mind if you are a trophy or achievement hunter. If you want to unlock trophies for all three difficulties you will have to play on Hardcore difficulty, and after you complete the game, a fourth difficulty will be unlocked which is much harder than every other difficulty.
