Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have released the Confrontation Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, delivering the final major content update of the game’s second year. Available now as a free update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Patch 14 introduces new PvP content, additional enemies, fresh rewards, and the final DLC packs included with Season Pass 2.
The update places a strong emphasis on the game’s Eternal War multiplayer mode, adding two new PvP arenas named Sanctum and Facility. These become the sixth and seventh playable maps available for the mode, giving players more battlegrounds to compete across.
Patch 14 also introduces new Weekly PvP rewards and Ordeals, allowing players to earn Accolades and cosmetic items by taking part in Eternal War matches and completing Datavault challenges.
Outside of PvP, the update expands the game’s PvE content with a new Terminus-class enemy. Players will now encounter the Thousand Sons’ Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer throughout Chaos-themed Operations as well as during Siege mode waves.
Players can also unlock six new Heroic weapon variants using Accolades. These include new versions of the Melta Rifle, Chainsword, Bolt Carbine Combi-Flamer, Power Fist with an integrated Meltagun, a Deathwatch-inspired Stalker Bolt Rifle, and the Executioner’s Axe variant for the Thunder Hammer.
Three new Heroic armour pieces have also been added, including an Ultramarines pauldron alongside a Deathwatch-themed breastplate and left gauntlet, giving players additional cosmetic rewards to earn.
Season Pass 2 owners receive two new cosmetic DLC packs as part of the update. The Salamanders Champion Pack 2 introduces a Heavy class Champion skin together with a Multi-Melta weapon skin, while the Raptors Cosmetic Pack includes five new armour pieces inspired by the Chapter’s stealth-focused combat style.
With the release of the Confrontation Update, Focus Entertainment has confirmed that Year 2 of post-launch support has now concluded. The publisher also revealed that Year 3 of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will begin in September, marking the next phase of content for the game.
The Confrontation Update is available now as a free download for all players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while the new Salamanders and Raptors cosmetic packs are included for Season Pass 2 owners.
