Capcom officially opened pre-orders today for Resident Evil: Requiem, the next major entry in the long-running survival horror series. However, what should have been a routine rollout may have inadvertently confirmed the return of a fan-favorite character. According to a discovery made by a Reddit user, PlayStation Portugal’s store listing for the game’s Deluxe Edition includes a pre-order bonus referencing Leon S. Kennedy — a character not yet announced for the upcoming title.
The listing reportedly features details about the Deluxe Kit, which includes various cosmetic and bonus items. Among them is an entry labeled “Leon’s Outfit: DSO Special Agent”, appearing alongside confirmed protagonist Grace Ashcroft and her corresponding outfits. The mention of Leon’s name in an official product description strongly implies his presence in the game, whether as a playable character or a major supporting figure.
The product page, which has since drawn significant attention across social media, outlines the contents of the Resident Evil: Requiem – Deluxe Edition. It includes five character outfits, two visual filters, four weapon skins, two amulets, an audio pack titled “Raccoon City Classic”, and collectible in-game files called “1998 Letters.” The inclusion of Leon’s attire specifically stands out, as it would mark his first canonical appearance since Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The leaked text reads:
“Five Outfits, including Grace’s Outfit: Dimitrescu and Leon’s Outfit: DSO Special Agent (This is the item highlighted by the red box in the image).”
No mention of Leon exists in any of Capcom’s official materials so far. The publisher has maintained a tight hold on information surrounding Resident Evil: Requiem, revealing only Grace Ashcroft, a new protagonist introduced as an FBI agent investigating a string of mysterious deaths that lead her back to a ruined Raccoon City. Still, the appearance of Leon’s name in a regional store listing could lend credibility to ongoing rumors that he may share the spotlight with Grace as a second playable character.
While the leak has not been verified by Capcom, it follows several similar incidents in recent weeks. Earlier reports revealed the Requiem Deluxe Edition contents, including Grace’s “Dimitrescu” costume and a series of “Apocalypse”-themed visual filters and weapon skins. The new detail about Leon, however, adds a narrative dimension that prior leaks lacked, suggesting that Capcom could be preparing to reintroduce one of the franchise’s most iconic figures in a supporting or co-lead role.
The timing of the leak coincides with the start of Capcom’s global pre-order campaign, which was officially unveiled during the “Road to Requiem” livestream hosted by Maggie Robertson, the voice of Lady Dimitrescu. The event celebrated the series’ history and teased new gameplay innovations, including perspective switching between first-person and third-person modes, as well as expanded cross-platform support.
Capcom has yet to issue a statement addressing the Portuguese store listing. Given the sensitive nature of pre-release marketing materials, the company may quietly correct or remove the reference in future updates. Until then, fans are treating the discovery as a strong hint that Leon S. Kennedy — one of Resident Evil’s most enduring characters — will make a long-awaited return in Resident Evil: Requiem.
Resident Evil: Requiem is set to launch on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are currently live, with bonuses available for all major platforms.
