Nintendo Corporation has confirmed that its Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo will soon receive a new software update, which will introduce an official collection of alarms inspired by the acclaimed title, Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This move further integrates the company’s popular intellectual properties into consumer lifestyle products.
The upcoming update, to be distributed through a future software release, will bring seven new themed alarm options to the device. These will feature audio elements from both the original game and its Star-Crossed World expansion. The functionality requires an internet connection and a complimentary Nintendo Account to access the musical selections from the game’s Starry World segments. A specific release date has not yet been announced for the new content.
The Alarmo device, which responds to a user’s movements, serves as a bridge between the company’s entertainment portfolio and the daily routines of its customers. This particular expansion for the device is seen as a way to support the enhanced edition of the game, Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. That upgraded version is slated for release on August 28, 2025.
The original Kirby and the Forgotten Land, developed by HAL Laboratory, was a major commercial hit following its March 2022 debut on the Nintendo Switch. The title was notable for being the first mainline Kirby game to feature full three-dimensional gameplay. The adventure-based narrative followed Kirby on his quest to rescue captured Waddle Dees from the villainous Beast Pack. The game’s sales performance has been quite impressive, reaching over 7.5 million units sold globally by March 2024. This makes it the best-selling title in the franchise’s history and among the most successful releases on the Nintendo Switch platform.
