Like A Dragon: Ishin No Longer Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Month

In a recent update, it has been confirmed that Like A Dragon: Ishin will no longer be removed from Xbox Game Pass, contrary to earlier announcements. The game was previously listed among the titles set to leave the service by the end of October, which left fans with limited time to finish it. However, a new update on both the Xbox app and website has removed the title from the “Games Leaving Soon” list, allowing subscribers to continue enjoying this action-packed experience.

This reversal means that Like A Dragon: Ishin remains part of the full lineup of Yakuza games available on Xbox Game Pass. This includes popular entries such as Yakuza Zero and Yakuza: Like A Dragon, along with newer titles like Like A Dragon: Ishin and Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name. These games have been consistently available on the service, providing fans of the series and newcomers alike the opportunity to dive into the expansive world of the Yakuza franchise.

Like A Dragon: Ishin is a remake of Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!, an action-adventure game originally developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega in 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The original release was exclusive to Japan and served as a launch title for the PlayStation 4. The 2023 remake, developed using Unreal Engine 4, was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, making the game accessible to a global audience for the first time.

Set during the tumultuous Bakumatsu period (1853–1867), the game follows the story of Sakamoto Ryōma, a historical figure grappling with inner conflict amid a changing society. After becoming embroiled in a coup and seeking vengeance for the death of his mentor, Ryōma adopts a hidden identity in the streets of Kyo and joins the feared Shinsengumi. The game blends rich storytelling with intense combat mechanics, offering a captivating journey through one of Japan’s most significant historical periods.
