Xbox Game Studios and The Coalition’s Gears of War 6 may be scheduled for a major reveal in the year 2024.
The official Gear of War Twitter/X account recently shared a greeting card, wishing fans for the holidays. It was later re-tweeted by The Coalition Level Designer Benjamin Huyghe, with the message “see you in 2024”.
While this may be considered reading too much into things, we believe Huyghe’s message hints at the likelihood of a Gears 6 reveal in the year 2024. The idea doesn’t defy logic, as The Coalition has been working on its next title for quite some time now. Therefore, it is expected that the studio will have something to show its fans sometime next year.
Previously, it was mentioned by Jeff Grub, who has a proven track record with sources inside the industry, that developer behind the Gears of War series is working on the next installment in the series. However, he added that the studio also has more in store for fans.
“Gears studio The Coalition is busy, they are working on Halo… they are helping with Halo Infinite. That is one of the big projects that Coalition is contributing to in a major way, Coalition is also of course making the next Gears game… But the Coalition is also working on a third thing and it likely is a new IP, ” said Jeff Grub during his podcast.
“Now, I’ve heard rumors that it could be a Star Wars thing from out of the Coalition. But I haven’t been able to confirm that and these are rumors that have been kicked around a few different places… Whether that comes out before the next Gears I don’t know.”
The most recent entry in the Gears of War series, Gears 5, was released in 2019 for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Serving as the fifth primary entry in the Gears of War series, it continues the narrative from Gears of War 4. The game focuses on Kait Diaz’s quest to uncover the roots of the Locust Horde.
