Effective today, players can return to the war-torn planet of Sera in Gears of War 1, 2, and 3, allowing them to participate in online multiplayer matches. This represents a significant landmark in the series’ ongoing support.
The match-finding feature for the inaugural Gears of War game is now back in service, facilitating players in searching and joining multiplayer matches seamlessly. This update complements the recent fixes made to the matchmaking system in Gears of War 3, ensuring a streamlined online experience across the entire original trilogy.
The Gears of War series, which debuted with its eponymous first game, presented players with the dystopian planet Sera and the gallant soldiers of Delta Squad. The game introduced Marcus Fenix, a seasoned soldier tasked with humanity’s salvation from the terrifying Locust Horde. Celebrated for its cover-based shooting mechanics, cooperative gameplay, and graphic realism, it set a new benchmark for third-person shooters.
The 2008 sequel, “Gears of War 2,” capitalized on the first game’s success. It delved further into Sera’s lore, exploring the Locust’s origins and the harrowing struggle of humanity for survival.
