Horizon Call of the Mountain Patch Addresses Glitches and Enhances Accessibility

GIStaffBy GIStaffApril 3, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Guerrilla Games has launched the latest patch for Horizon Call of the Mountain, bringing significant improvements to the game’s accessibility features, performance, and stability. The update also addresses a variety of issues related to missions, progression, and machine behavior.

Accessibility Enhancements

The new patch offers improved subtitle options, including a black box behind subtitles, speaker colors, and increased font sizes for subtitles, tutorials, and user action prompts. High Contrast Mode has been added, which highlights objects that the user can interact with. In addition, the patch introduces Auto Crafting Arrows and Auto Crafting Tools, allowing players to skip the arrow crafting action and gameplay for crafting tools. Options to disable or enable tutorials in Mission Replays and slow down on jumps have also been added.

Performance and Stability Improvements

This update provides various crash and performance fixes, enhancing the overall stability of the game.

Missions and Progression Fixes

The patch addresses several issues that may cause players to become stuck on objects or unable to complete missions. It also fixes rare issues related to the final mission and climbing the Tallneck. Problems with the Stormbird, such as blocking progression or becoming idle and disappearing when affected by the frost status effect, have been resolved.

Machine Behavior Adjustments

Several issues with machines have been fixed, including the Shellwalker not damaging the user after its claw has been destroyed, the Watcher becoming inactive and not attacking the player, and the Stormbird’s idle behavior.

UI/UX Updates

The patch resolves issues with Aim Assistance re-enabling upon rebooting the title and the user’s screen darkening when destroying the rope bridge’s ropes before the tutorial becomes active. It also fixes problems with the Crafting Tutorial, UI disappearance after fighting the Scrappers, and gaze tracking flickering in Menu screens.

Additional Fixes

Other fixes in the update include issues with the Pan Flute continuing to make noise when dropped or when the user enters combat while using it. The patch also brings various audio, dialogue, music, geometry, and lighting fixes, along with an updated Credits list.

Guerrilla Games remains committed to providing a polished and enjoyable gaming experience for all players. The latest Horizon Call of the Mountain patch addresses numerous issues while enhancing accessibility, ensuring a smoother and more engaging experience.
