Nintendo has released a new update for New Pokémon Snap patching the game to version 1.2.0. The full patch notes can be seen here.
According to the patch notes, this update simply fixes an issue where the game was preventing the player from fulfilling the requirements for the “Proud Warrior” request. If you had faced this bug, it should be resolved now and you can go back and attempt it again without having to resort to a new game save.

New Pokémon Snap is a 2021 on-rails first-person photography game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. It was released on April 30, 2021.
