MLB The Show 23 Rolls Out New Update 1.02: Patch Notes Reveal Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

MLB The Show 23 update 1.02 is out now bringing a slew of bug fixes, improvements, and adjustments to the game across various platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

General changes include preventing two-way players from existing as both pitcher and position players simultaneously and fixing issues related to the Rally Monkey Quirk icon and CPU-controlled team uniforms. Diamond Dynasty has seen UI blur removal and improvements in UI speed for Conquest mode. Additionally, the update addresses problems with team logos, colors, and game summaries in Mini Seasons and WBC moments.

Online Head-to-Head players can expect enhanced umpire animations, as well as fixes for pitch “jumping” and inability to exit bullpen quick menus. Co-op gameplay now enjoys increased stability, with several bug fixes that address on-screen displays and fielder shift positions.

The Stadium Creator mode has also seen significant improvements, with added wall sorting and height options, fixes for prop limit issues, and better lighting for night games. Road to The Show has updated pitching rating displays and resolved issues with player rewards, while March to October and Franchise modes have corrected Hall of Fame inductee positions and team achievements screens.

Additional updates include bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements for Storylines, accurate opponent home run tallying in Home Run Derby, and corrected team matchups in Postseason Mode. Over 500 player portrait images have been updated with new 2023 photos, and various typos and presentation bugs have been addressed.
