The last update to MLB The Show 17 was released almost 3 years ago so it was strange to see a brand new patch released today. The patch notes, unfortunately, don’t tell us the whole story. They only mention that it is for bug fixes. As for what is included in the patch, we can only guess that it could be related to the PS5 compatibility. Some of the MLB games had issues when running on the PS5 so this patch could have fixed it.
