Nintendo has updated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after two long years to implement some bug fixes as seen in the patch notes given below.
For some reason, Nintendo remembered that there were a couple of bugs that had to be addressed with this new update to the game. The two issues that are listed as fixed in this update include the tournament points reset issue and the match history reset issue with friends. You can find out the details on this update below.

Nintendo has also updated Super Mario Party after almost two years since it launched so perhaps they are finally discovering that they have games with issues that can be updated.
