Kerbal Space Program 2 Update 0.1.1.0 Patch Notes: What’s New In March 16 Update

Kerbal Space Program 2(KSP 2), the popular space exploration game developed by Squad, has received a significant update. The latest release, version 0.1.12, includes bug fixes and optimizations to improve gameplay and performance.

One of the most notable bug fixes involves the disappearance of orbital trajectories after loading a saved game. The issue has been resolved along with several other bugs, including the problem of stack decouplers staying connected to a vessel when staged with certain engines that have fairings enabled. Additionally, the bug that caused physics impulse when an engine ran out of fuel has been fixed.

Another notable fix is related to the Kraken Drive bug. This issue caused engine thrust to be deflected at too high of a value when a part obstructed an engine’s exhaust. With the update, the bug has been addressed, and the engine thrust is no longer deflected at excessive angles.

Furthermore, the update includes optimizations that aim to reduce the CPU impact of high engine counts and improve the performance of the game. The loading times for the main menu have been reduced, and fuel flow calculations have been optimized to cut processing by up to 3x and reduce garbage by half.

The saving and loading feature has also been improved, and the game now autosaves when landing on a celestial body, entering an SOI (Sphere of Influence), or entering or exiting an atmosphere. The issue of reloading a save made at KSC resulting in reloading to active vessel in flight has also been fixed.

In addition to these bug fixes and optimizations, several other issues have been resolved, including the spinning of probe cores when losing Commnet connection, loss of vehicle control after undocking, and fixed the burn duration display showing 0 until it is time to start the burn.

Players can also expect to see added features, including camera collision with terrain and other colliders while in Flight view, visual indicators when hovering and pinning markers in Map view, and single part vessels now coming to a stop on low gravity celestial bodies after a crash.
